The 2026/27 season starts on 1 August, and the August All Month Competition is first up. Membership must be paid up before a comp starts, so join or renew now to fish it. Dates below are the committee's provisional calendar.
The season at a glance
The season runs 1 August to 31 July. These are the provisional 2026/27 fixtures - the committee will confirm anything still marked as such.

All Month Competition
Standard prize pool. Prizegiving 6:00pm Wednesday 2 September 2026.
- 17-20 September
Tokerau Beach One Base Competition
Based at Tokerau Beach, Northland. Registration Thursday evening, fishing Friday and Saturday, depart Sunday. Subsidised accommodation for members. Categories and prize format to be confirmed.
- 16-18 October
The 4 Grander
Weekend comp against Poenamo Fishing Club, and Browns Bay is hosting this year. $4,000 prize pool for the 10 longest snapper, plus the club-vs-club trophy for best combined length. Prizegiving Sunday afternoon.

Xmas Holidays Competition
The big one - an extended all-month comp over the holidays, standard prize pool plus extra prizes to be advised. Prizegiving 6:00pm Wednesday 10 February 2027.
- 12-14 March
Great Barrier Weekend Competition
New for this season: a weekend comp out at Great Barrier. Categories and format to be confirmed.
- 9-11 April
Land-based Competition
Weekend comp, feet firmly on shore. Standard prize pool. Prizegiving 5:00pm Sunday 11 April 2027.
- 14-16 May
Memorial Competition
Weekend comp with set boundaries. Standard prize pool plus heaviest snapper under 600mm. Memorial trophy for longest snapper. Prizegiving 5:00pm Sunday 16 May 2027.
- June
All Month Competition
Last comp of the season. Standard prize pool. Prizegiving 6:00pm Wednesday 30 June 2027.
- 18 July
End-of-season prizegiving & dinner
No competition - trophies, food and a well-earned debrief to close the season.
