How to enter a catch
Seven steps between hooking up and (possibly) glory. The photo rules are strict because they're the whole judging system - get them right and the rest is easy.

Be a paid-up member before the comp starts
No membership, no entry - and it has to be sorted before the comp begins, not before you email your fish in.

Catch your fish
Any time during the comp period, rod and line only, within NZ fishing rules. Boat or land-based both count.

Lay it on the official BBFC measure mat
Jaw touching the stop board, tail spread to show full length. New members get a mat free when they join; spares are $20.

Put the comp's identification feature in the shot
Each comp has an identification feature announced at the start - it must be visible in your photo to validate the catch for that comp.

Photograph from directly overhead
A clear photo, straight down, whole fish and mat in frame. Blurry, angled, or creative interpretations give the Weighmaster licence to deduct length - or bin the entry.

Email it to the Weighmaster
One fish per email to brownsbayfishing@gmail.com, with your name, the species and the length in the subject line - before the comp's close time. Enter as many fish as you like; only your best per species counts.

Come to prizegiving
Be at the Browns Bay Bowling Club during the specified time slot to validate your entry. (All-month comps: a primary member can stand in for family in the Junior and Women’s Snapper sections.)
What a correct entry photo looks like

Not permitted: gutted, gilled, butchered or frozen fish; photos without the official mat; entries by any channel other than email.
