The 4 Grander

Once a year, in October, we go head to head with the Poenamo Fishing Club - a weekend comp with a $4,000 prize pool for the 10 longest snapper, and the trophy going to the club with the highest combined length of its best ten. Hosting alternates between the clubs, and the prizegiving is worth the trip on its own.

Hosted by Poenamo, 10-12 October 2025, with prizegiving at Pats Garage Northcote. The closest one yet: Poenamo's Sam Connolly boated a 90cm giant for the biggest fish of the weekend, but Browns Bay held the trophy by a cheeky 1.5 centimetres - 780.5 to 779.
